Hi guys, sorry I have just been reading through this thread but there's a LOT of information and I was wondering if anyone had any advise for me?

I primarily bank with Starling and have used Capital One and Zable for these transactions - what's prompted me today is a fraud alert from Capital One although of course I made the transaction.. however these are the names of the 'merchants' and was wondering if anyone can assist with any information on claiming back refunds or finding out who to contact? I read people haven't had a great help with Starling.

Hi, I'm also with starling and just started the process of contacting individual merchants myself, starling have said they can't help and to contact the merchants myself however last night's phone call to starling the lady was all for helping and I've to call back on Monday, with the proof that I've sent emails etc.

With regards to your merchants I also have zpaympf and spaympf but getting information on them is proving difficult to find. Try putting them in to Google or safari and see what you can find, with others it's been a lot of investigative work to try and find them.

Hi, thank you for responding so quickly. I just stared the process of disputing but will email merchants first to have proof that I've asked for a refund. May I ask what you said to Starling? It's positive that they wish to help!

I've been truthful with them but kind of wish that I just asked for good's and services not received, the only problem with that is I literally have over 300 transactions and to say I haven't received anything will be far fetched. So I told them I have a gambling problem, I am self excluded from UK casinos through gamstop, And that these casinos are exploiting people with gambling problems and bypassing any gambling blocks by using incorrect MCC codes and descriptors and by sharing bank details without permission to merchants that are saying I've bought goods from them when I haven't.

One of my merchants has attempted to refund me £900 today but unfortunately they are declined as the bank card that they have for the transactions was cancelled and I was issued a new one, so tried emailing them several times but they have never responded.

Thank you so much. I've had a look through and I have around 47 transactions so yeah, seems a bit of a stretch to say goods not received. That's great you can be honest, I think I will do the same as they need stopped! Have had a realisation today so hopefully can get a satisfactory response from the casino directly first and foremost.

Normally when a card is cancelled the payment can still be made and routed to the new card by the bank(if it is the same bank). Why would this not be the case here?

Because the merchant is probably lying to them lol. Keep lying until it’s no longer valid for chargeback then ghost I assume

No idea, I called starling today to say that these refunds have been declined and sent back. He told me it's because the card is cancelled and to contact the merchant with the new card details which I've done, it's echosyntex and they haven't replied or attempted refund again.

We should all be reporting these casinos and merchants to action fraud

I'm with Santander (Mastercard) and my claim was accepted and raised in the middle of December after having to go through many hoops. Just do it.

Have they actually done it for you if so can you maybe give me some tips because I'm struggling I've had to reopen for the third time because of not having enough evidence on the basis that the casino in question didn't pay which I can't show as I'm blocked. I did try to get them raised as wrong Merchant code used they said no such thing where do you go from there when told no as much as I argue they fob me off.

and the UKGC, if they're unlicensed here they can be chased down by the Gambling Commission and receive heavy fines, especially if they're licensed elsewhere as they'll be easier to track

Guys can someone post a copy of a transcript I can send to the merchant / casino please - or direct me to a page where one already exists please - thank you - my head is frazzled !
