I played this casino ….i have a big case now running ( about 60.000 Rand ) background .


i did a self exclusion this year for visiting casinos in Gauteng and separate licensed casinos and seperate on line casino . Did the application and the interview .So I thought I couldn’t open any South African casinos on line . Unfortunately I relapse and without any problems I could open and did a fica verification with my South African id ( only that is already strange ) because why are you filling in the papers that goes to the gauteng gambling board . I played won got paid out and lost ( approximately lost 60.000 Rand ) .


i decided to close my account a couple of weeks ago and confronted them why on earth it was possible for me as a gambler addict to open a account with them . I reported them now to the western cape gambling and racing compliance .


only Reading now on this page that they have very low rates and don’t use licensed casino .


they refuse to update me ( because I ask them who is now responsible? I have a contact lady that is looking at the situation. They will update me hopefully this week . The strange thing with the casinos operating like this ( got several other claims with same issue) that only lottostar and goldrush and some others sent me soon after the 25 jan 2024 that I excluded myself and they got the notification.


this casino is twist and twirl ( calling you in the middle of the night to solve . They give you a case number that even for me it’s difficult to retrieve and get updates . So this needs to be stopped . Yes I relapsed … but those casinos can’t get away with there so called responsible gambling .


be very careful if you have a background as gambler . They accept you even after fica .


and because I live in Gauteng they try to move it to Johannesburg . But I started with the officials in Johannesburg and they will forward you to the western cape .



the casino will not answer platforms like Guru or others .

I have a huge issue with this casino . Will give some details. On 25 jan 2024 I decided to exclude myself via Sun international in gauteng are ( Johannesburg ) to exclude myself from casino all in Gauteng plus extra on line casinos plus extra all licensed casinos . Because of problems . We did the interview , signed the official papers that where sent to the Gauteng Gambling board . About 1.5 week later I received from lottostar and goldrush casinos a txt Dhr Mr ….. we got a notification that you did a selfexclusion . So far so good ! I was under the impression that I could never open a account on line in Gauteng area . But unfortunately as a gambler I went a couple months later on internet Hollywoodbets. Keep I you’re backmind that you give you’re South African ID number with the self exclusion. Now with Hollywoodbets it’s was zero problems together with some other casinos . I had Hollywoodbets and jackpotcity South Africa. I did the complete FICA verification and was able to play , win pay out deposit and so and so . So total damage was at Hollywoodbets around 60.000 Rand . My partner found out and I closed the account . He went grazy . Especially we excluded myself for lifetime . We confronted first the Johannsesburg gambling board and they referred me to the western cape gambling and racing board . I explained by email the whole situation. Also my partner wanted his / our money back from the casino . Because how was is possible to open account do fica verification with the same ID number that was with restrictions. Now I have a case number ( it’s terrible to get information) they even called me in the middle of the night to ask me things . Casino is blaming the board but the board in western cape is now looking who is responsible. Casino told me they have no blaming ????????? I wait for feedback . The casenumber given by Hollywood supervisor…can’t provide me a update about the claim because she needs a phonecall or email from the western cape representative. It’s getting totally grazy . Now unfortunately see that Hollywoodbets is a bit low in score and work without license . The head office is in mpumalanga . But the casino is operating in Gauteng also ( where my restrictions are know ) .its already sad that I relapse but with the rules from playing responsibly is gone with this situation. And no representatives will answer here on guru trust me . Did a lot of cases already but this and a other on are insane .


please think twice … this messsage is to confront casinos like this .

because filling a complaint with guru will not help . They don’t want to burn their hands ( the casino I mean )

I totally forgot about that everyone could see them ( just stupid ) should know by now . Yeah unfortunately the thing you explains is the sad truth . But I will take it up with management from Sun casino in Gauteng . To fill in a complaint . They should have told me this also . Over there the interview was taken and recorded . And I also will tell the facility I stayed this separate on line thing . But at least I opened the discussion so people can prepare themselves . Now we are facing the truth . Also the lack of information from the official government the Gauteng and western cape gambling board. But I won’t give up as you should know me by know . We are really thankful that a platform as GuRU excist . So we can open the main issue .

I can't speak on behalf of your national authorities, of course, but if I'm to guess, I would certainly browse the document again to find out what range of casinos is that applied to.

Such exclusion, in my opinion, functions similarly to other national standards, which essentially only apply to businesses that hold local authority licenses. Have you heard of this concept before? For example, in the UK, this kind of exclusion only keeps you from playing at online casinos that have a "UKGC" (British Gambling Commission) license. Thanks for coming back . Yes overseas the Netherlands I’me on crux gambling protective so I can’t play . And they are very strict . But again today I filled in complaint about the Casino representative who did my interview and signed papers . He is part of the whole situation also . They didn’t gave me the right information as big Casino . So on this stage GURU is busy and also the lady from Western cape gambling board who promised to come back before tommorow with information.

Okey, let's see what comes of it. I just hope you understand we focus on resolving complaints, so if the resolution is outside our reach, there won't be much to add or inspect. Hard to handle complaints focused on how well someone provided information. Thanks for coming back at me . I just called the lady who is working at western cape gambling board and races . See what she is telling about Hollywoodbets etc … saw that the casino works without license . Then I called the casino where I did my interview and paper work . Got the email address from all Sun international Times Square Menlyn in South Africa . I emailed yesterday already everything . But finally my complaint about the matter was already there . The casino is also doing and started a investigation. That part is luckily on email . And will continue by mail . I really appreciate you’re guys hard work . That’s why I do my best from my side for responsable gambling . There in total now 3 claims at GuRU . They are different .


So Tomas and Nick are working hard . I keep them regularly with updates .

This actually sounds a lot more promising, so what a relief! I completely agree; both of these guys work really hard. As you say, keeping them up to date is always a good idea.

But do not worry about the forum; it is better to keep private, sensitive information solely in the complaint thread. Despite that, I'm sure you will update us with progress here too, so we can keep our fingers crossed for you. 🙂
